The Launch of the African Transformation Movement

The African Transformation Movement (ATM) is a political party that is driven and formed by the people. ATM was formed in 2018 by the South African Council of Messianic Churches in Christ (SACMCC). It promises to put South Africans first and to transform South Africa to a peaceful, ethically-governed and economically valuable country.
The African Transformation Movement (ATM) has been launched in the Eastern Cape and hundreds of people mainly who are members of the Twelve Apostolic Church in Christ members converged at Walter Sisulu University stadium near Mthatha. The stadium was painted with blue and white colors as the newly formed political party members were chanting and singing to welcome their provincial leaders.
The former DA provincial chairperson Veliswa Mvenya was announced as the provincial chairperson of the ATM. The party was lunched in North West, Rustenburg and its core values are as follows:

• Peace
Create a society that is at peace with itself through active social dialogue and decisive leadership.
• Ubuntu
“Umntu ngumntu ngabantu” (People is people because of other people) – to live and breathe the values of Ubuntu on a daily basis as a people of the land;
• Transformation
African Transformation through embracing and promoting the African way of living, and African way of resolving problems;
• Servant leadership
Be a servant of the people first and foremost to ascertain sound leadership and governance;
• Accountability
Build a state governed with ethics and integrity to guarantee good governance and curb criminal activities in the public office.

African Transformation Movement is not formed by politicians who have broken away from other political parties. Vuyolwethu Zungula who is the president of African Transformation Movement told the public that the party will not be entertaining any funding from outside because political parties are not funded by its members. They are funded by those who are rich and wealthy. This behavior puts the country in a position of being unable to serve its people needs. Instate they end up serving the needs of those who are funding them.
African Transformation Movement (ATM) further aims to redefine politics from the negative perceptions it currently holds such as criminal activities and bad behavior. Religious political parties find it difficult because they believe in a unitary government systems instead of federal systems.
The next provincial launch will be held in the Eastern Cape next weekend, while the national launch will be held in Bloemfontein, Free State, from the 1st of December.
