Political analyst Lesiba Teffo recently made encouraging comments about the African Transformation Movement (ATM). These comments included cautions to parties such as the African National Congress (ANC) stating that the ruling party should not take ATM for granted.
“The ANC is likely to take a knock and be negatively impacted by these parties,” Lesiba Teffo said.
With the elections coming up on 8 May 2019, voters in South Africa are likely to shift from the ANC to another political home such as the African Transformation Movement.
“The ATM is the party to watch. I think it is likely to get support because it is aligned to the churches. The voice of the bishop has an influence and if he says vote for this party, the congregants will do that. The membership is prone to listen to their spiritual leader.”
