ATM THE PASSING OF DR NOZUKO NONGQUNGA

The African Transformation Movement (ATM) mourns the passing of Mother Chief Apostle Dr Nozuko Nongqunga of the Twelve Apostles’ Church in Christ, and one of the many key individuals who were the brains behind the formation of the African Transformation Movement.

Mother Chief Apostle Nongqunga was a humanitarian who ran a number of projects that focused on the uplifting of skills for women and children in many communities of South Africa, and ensured that these projects were sustainable enough to restore the dignity of all the people she led.

Affectionately known as “uGogo” to many, she believed in education much where she and her husband, Chief Apostle Professor Caeser Nongqunga founded the Twelve Apostles’ Church in Christ Bursary Fund, which has since taken many recipients to institutions of higher learning.

Dr Nozuko Nongqunga’s women empowerment projects saw her acquiring a women – run factory that mass produces church uniform that is sold to many churches, thus giving a stable income to many families that are heavily dependent on this income to provide for their families.

In the last few months, after seeing a published story of a child headed family that is living under sub-par conditions in Mantusini on Cutting Edge, she led a delegation that collected pledges and donations to give to the family, and the project was a success.

ATM gives due recognition to spiritual front liners such as Dr Nozuko Nongqunga, women of the cloth who continue to sacrifice all they have for the well-being of many community members who come to them for assistance.

We will remember her for her kind, humble, and giving personality that always ensured that the people take precedent in all that she embarked on.

We pass our condolences to the founding Father of ATM, Professor Nongqunga, their family, friends, and the congregation of the Twelve Apostles Church in Christ for the passing of Dr Nozuko Nongqunga, hoping that her work in communities will continue to inspire many to Put South Africans First in all they do.

Rest in eternal peace Mama, uyibekile induku ebandla, kwaye imisebenzi yakho iyabonakala.
