The African Transformation Movement (ATM) condemns violence of any kind in the church, especially at times where the church ought to be playing a supportive role in communities, working hand in hand with the state, and other stakeholders to ensure that the joint effort results in the successful management of this outbreak.
The eclipsing of God by material interest is an act we publicly condemn because it often leads to disputes that taint the objectives the church
Understanding the role of the African church in communities, especially in such trying times, the religious fraternity must join forces to restore the sanctity of the African church, so that the role of the church in moral regeneration and restoration is realized over time.
Guiding us in this quest of the restoring the church to its original state that was able to be a moral compass for all in the community, should be peace, love, coexistence, forgiveness, and a general sense of a servant leadership kind of a character that is able to champion conflict resolution that benefits all parties involved in the dispute.
Without the values of peace guiding all spiritual matters, all the works of the Spirit will never be realized, and as such, the community will perish.
ATM extends unreserved condolences to the friends, families, and acquaintances of the deceased victims of the hostage situation that took place at the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, hoping that the law will take all perpetrators to task.
